Tasha Davis
Tasha is currently in her second year as the Principal at KIPP Vision Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. In the 2018-2019 school year, she will be opening the ninth school in KIPP Metro Atlanta. This school will be the fourth primary school in the region and will educate scholars grades Kindergarten through fourth grade. Prior to taking on Principal at KIPP Vision Academy, Tasha was an assistant principal for two years. She has previously participated in Leadership Team with the KIPP School Leadership Program, where she developed her skills as an assistant principal and made lifelong friends in this work who have been lifelines in this journey alongside her. Before joining the KIPP team and family in July 2013, she spent two years on the leadership team at Explore Charter School in Brooklyn, New York developing a rigorous culture of student achievement for Kindergarten through eighth grade scholars in Brooklyn. The three years prior to that, Tasha was in the classroom instructing some of Brooklyn’s finest third grade students in reading, writing, math and social studies at Explore Charter School. In the time she was at Explore Charter School, she developed strong culture systems to maximize the learning taking place in classrooms. Tasha’s teaching career spans eleven years and she has taught in Colorado, California and New York. Tasha has a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and a M.A.T. from Grand Canyon University. Tasha is passionate about education and honored to educate scholars at KIPP and open a school that provides educational excellence for all families. She is very excited to continue her work with the scholars, staff and families in Atlanta! Outside of school, Tasha enjoys running marathons, reading books and being the proud of auntie of four nephews and a niece.
