Iman Serbones

Iman Serbones (KIPP ’17) is a writer and analyst based in Texas. A long time advocate for civil rights and international affairs, while attending KIPP UPREP, Iman volunteered with local community programs and competed in the National Hispanic Institute debates. While studying at the University of Texas, she worked at the Texas Capitol, was involved in multiple organizations, and lived abroad in South Africa, where she studied economic development and volunteered to help local businesses expand their network globally.

Currently, Iman volunteers as a mentor to recent KIPP San Antonio graduates who currently attend the University of Texas. Outside of work, Iman is a published photographer, and her work has been featured in daily inspiration segments across local state magazines. She also enjoys skateboarding, cooking, and reading sci-fi novels in her free time. If you ever meet Iman, say hi, or ask her why chicken shawarma is the best food!
