Hung Nguyen

KIPP Navigate College Prep

Hung Nguyen is an alum of KIPP Navigate College Prep. Hung was a leader in his high school community; he joined the Student Council where he helped fundraise, plan cultural events, and facilitate student-led teacher candidate interviews. Hung volunteers at his local library where he helps manage events and tutor younger children. He will be attending the University of California, Irvine in the fall and plans to major in biological science. He aspires to become a genetic engineer to aid in the research or development of increasing crop yields, cheaper drug alternatives, and curing once-considered incurable diseases. As resources become scarcer for some, with the help of the advancements in technology, he hopes to take the worry of not having enough food, water, or medication off a family’s mind, something he understands personally.
