Sameer Mittal
KIPP Delta Public Schools
A KIPP Blytheville Collegiate High School graduate, Sameer Mittal, plans to pursue a degree in biology or biochemistry at Rutgers University. Growing up in an underserved and socioeconomically disadvantaged community, he encountered inequalities within the healthcare system. These inequalities drove Sameer’s initiatives to partner with Mississippi County Arkansas Economic Opportunity Commission, where he volunteered to provide medical assistance to the community through multiple cancer, diabetes, and awareness events, including a school health fair and mental health symposium. In addition to advocacy within his community, Sameer was selected to conduct biomedical research at Vanderbilt University, focused on infectious diseases and viruses. As an aspiring physician, he hopes to practice medicine in rural areas where there is a lack of accessible and affordable healthcare.
